Overview: The "Look Sharp" Award is a recognition award presented by members of the Chiefs' Group. The award is presented to any individual who demonstrates exemplary service in the performance of their duty and whose individual appearance is above and beyond established standards. The person awarding the coin determines the interpretation of exemplary. The person presenting the coin may or may not be a recipient of the service. However, they must have observed it. Awarding: When an exemplary service or act is observed the Chief who observes the act/service gets the name of the proposed recipient. He/she then routes the name through the unit's Chief of the assigned individual to ensure there is no adverse action affecting the recipient. If there is no adverse action, the Chief makes the presentation of the coin and certificate. The presentation may be at any formal function, such as a Commander's Call or staff meeting. The Chief presenting the award forwards an e-mail, describing the full name, rank, duty title, squadron and a brief description of the act/service performed to the Look Sharp Program Manager. Program Manager CMSgt Bob Rubio e-mail. The recipient's service or act will be recognized in the base newspaper. Download these Procedures here.... Word Doc |
